Here is a special poem for the day. It is outside my normal vein of poems so posted it in this section for the occasion.

                                              CLOIGIN DUBH

                       1) Ring the black bell, send out God's word.
The world needs those notes loud and clear.
                           Gather the serpents of darkness,
and send packing all of our fear.

                        2) Ring the black bell's notes ever sweet,
draw evil away from our land.
Send them off into the abyss,
His Word having made a firm stand.

                         3) Black bell the Angels retrieve you,
so that once again you can ring,
in the hands of him who was sent
to make evil feel His sharp sting.

                           4) Ring black bell now forever more,
fill our world with beauty and peace.
Our shepherd stand there on the crough,
and ring cloigin dubh without cease.

                            R) There you are faithful Saint of old,
now send the vermin o'er the edge.
Ring cloigin dubh throughout our world,
send evil away off the ledge.
