I can just hear the comments in Pubs around Ireland:

"Who does he think he is anyway? He wasn't even born here!
And what the **** is he doing, ordering COFFEE?
What's up with good Irish tay or Guinness?"

Personally I think there is merit in what he says.....I have been saying similar things for years.

There have been advantages to membership of the EU, but tremendous disadvantages too, which have not been dealt with.
Rampant immigration, both legal and illegal. A soaring crime rate.
Out-of-sight inflation. Over-development.
A huge drug problem - unheard of 30 years ago.

I agree Ireland should work at regaining it's own identity before it's too late.

The Government are aware of it, but seem clueless on how to go about it.
They are trying to encourage ex-patriates to come home, with grants and subsidies.

They are aware that the Irish are vastly outnumbered in their own country.

They need to be more assertive before there is another "Flight of Earls".

(But that's only my opinion, I can't dance as good as Flatley!)

Maggie, I was hoping you would give us your opinion. Although I enjoyed Riverdance and Lord of the dance, I am not a fan of any "Celebvrity" who spouts off on subject as if they were the expert just because they are a celeb.

Thanks
