... Once you finished reading through my review of my friend Kate's awesome EP ...
I listened to Lindsey Stirling's new Christmas album,
Warmer In The Winter, on Spotify.
I thought it was really good!
The album is a blend of pop, jazz, big band, and classical styles and sounds.
I think it's her most classical and well-orchestrated album to date. It's certainly less synth-/grunge-heavy than her previous albums.
Lindsey is of course awesome, but what distinguishes this album from her others is really the orchestration. There are some lovely moments and some epic ones! It reminds me in some ways of the Celtic Woman "Voices of Angels" treatment.
Like her recent albums, a number of the tracks have singers. The guest singers are good, though perhaps not spectacular.
Lindsey's playing style is similar to her previous albums, although it sounds like she's added a few new tricks!
Some people may not feel the same way, but this is my favourite Lindsey Stirling so far.
