I am savoring the Japanese Student Production of "Brigadoon"...it was so utterly perfect...I still cannot get over it..
and I cried 3 times...could not hold back the tears...such polish and perfection...they worked on it for ONE WHOLE
year...they are ENGLISH majors at U of Ryukyu...it was only to be presented for one night...packed house...sorry to
say seats were very uncomfortable, but I had a free seat next to me...They made their own costumes..
Their dancing, esp the tap dancing was superb...the backdrops were professionaly done, but everything else was
student produced...such timing...such marvelous use of English despite some accent problems esp with the L and R
sounds....They had to cut one of the Love songs.."come to me,bend to me" the student orchestra was superb and
each member at the end was announced and given own applause......I was so impressed with every lead, every song,
even the smallest stage business, and set changing was flawless..... The citizen's theater was a big stage with good
viewing.....so very glad I was able to witness what the Japanese can do when they all work together as a team and a
goal of perfection...reminds me of an "Irish Team" I know that is perfect and flawless and can make me cry....hmmm.
