It is inevitable The High Kings will be compared with The Clancy Brothers and the Fureys.

I must admit I got out my old vinyl Clancy Brothers LPs and CDs, both with and without Tommy Makem. I have one right here by Tommy Makem and Liam Clancy "We've come a long way".

Dave transferred the LPs onto CDs using a USB turntable.

I've also been listening to my "Fureys and Davy Arthur" CDs.
I have a 2xCD set of beautiful songs and tunes by Finbar and Eddie Furey.
(Yes, his name had one 'r' while Finbarr Clancy has two)

Most of these are now discontinued, but maybe the success of the High Kings will revive interest in their fathers and uncles!

I enjoy them all, the sweet love songs and traditional tunes of the Fureys and the passionate rousing Rebel songs and sea shanty's of the Clancys.

They look very much at home together on my CD shelves, beside these young upstarts, The High Kings.  Cheesy
