Here's a thought. Maybe the girls will tour with THK in Ireland after they return home. That way they get Home town audiences.

That would be a great way for CW to gain a larger home audience.
I wonder, though, if they won't begin working on their new show when this current tour is over? Did I read somewhere that they would do a new video in August?

It's a good way to fast-track them into the public eye. Maybe tickets were not going as fast as anticipated for THK. Bear in mind this is all about business and money. Rather than risk taking a loss on a solo tour they team up and share the profits on the CW sell-out Tour. I have said from the beginning (and in an e-mail to Bob several days ago) The High Kings will be more successful in Ireland and Europe than CW. So maybe CW will do some guest appearances on THK Tour at home, hoping to improve their ratings there. The biggest reason for THK's success is their own immense talent, but another part of it is the big shoes they are filling, and doing it very successfully. The clue is in this report in the Irish Independent: "A NEW Irish ballad group taking the US by storm will launch its music collection in Ireland this week. The High Kings -- featuring the sons of some of Ireland's best known performers -- will carry on the tradition of great Irish music when they unveil their new CD on Friday. Finbarr Clancy, son of Bobby Clancy; Martin Furey, son of the renowned Irish piper and singer Finbar Furey; Brian Dunphy, son of Sean Dunphy, and Darren Holden, who toured the world with Riverdance, are back on home soil this week rehearsing for their first US tour......."The whole report is here: http://www.independent.ie/entertainment/music/following-in-their-fathers-footsteps-up-the-charts-1326570.htmlThe Clancy's, the Furey's, and Sean Dunphy were well-loved at home, as was the music they performed. As long as THKs keep it fresh, include a few sentimental oldies and show their full range of talent, they can not go wrong. And like their fathers, they will not forget where they came from.......

That was my thought. I think it's a great idea to open for CW for the rest of their tour. A lot of people haven't heard of them yet and what better crowd to target than the CW fans? THK opening will be a pleasant surprise for some and an anticipation for others. I wish I could catch a concert, but I'll have to live vicariously through everyone going. But, good decision IMO.

How was it done in NYC? I would assume THK would start half an hour early, do a couple songs, and then the reg CW show with the 20 intermission. The Girls need that for changes, and such. The audience needs it to stretch, and to take care of some things

I predict.....they will bring the house down, and set the mood for the night.
There will not be the gradual warming-up that usually happens....... THKs will kick-start the audience!
The making of musical history.........

They ROCKED tonight! I can't wait to see them again tomorrow! They sang The Rocky Road to Dublin, Will Ye Go Lassie, Go, and The Wild Rover.
