Since most if not all of the moderators and administrators here on this forum seem to be busy and an alternate forum is set up, I've heard of potential issues that this forum might not be able to stick around long term because of it and the posts here could be in danger of being deleted. This makes me wonder, is there a way to archive what we deem important on the other forum or somewhere to ensure that these posts stay up somehow? I thought that I would ask because I think a lot of us wouldn't just want things here to be deleted for whatever reasoning someone gave. Can someone else explain more about why these issues might happen?

Without access to the database (which we don't have)...

There are sites that crawl across the web and archive material, like this one:
https://archive.org/web/

I've found some good stuff on there before, like a history of Anuna's notable past members.

I thought this was a pretty cool find too, possibly the predecessor to this forum from 2006:
https://web.archive.org/web/20060822143512/http://www.celticwomanforum.com:80/

There might be other sites out there that can crawl through a forum and extract information, though I doubt they can do it at the level of a specific user (ie. if you wanted to copy your own posts).

Personally, I started to copy some of my posts on here manually into a Word document about a year ago but got side-tracked and never finished.

I've also moved a few of my posts to the new forum: http://www.celticwomanforum.net

As long as there is a new forum in case this one disappears and most people know about this in advance, you wouldn't think that there would be a problem if this one were to go away. I haven't started an account at the new forum yet. Maybe I will at some point.

The problem is if this old forum goes down, there's a huge amount of content, especially from the pre-Destiny days, that doesn't exist anywhere else: stories, experiences, and a wealth of information that would be lost.

I've tried to put a bunch of cool information on the new forum, but there's sooooo much here that nobody could reasonably go through and transplant to the new forum manually. We'd probably need a backup of the database to preserve it all.
